EDWARD'S PROJECTS
KRISHNA
The 50 foot 60 tonne Krishna statue posed unique engineering, construction, and transportation challenges due to the very nature of the statue’s design. The Client wanted a specific event from the Mahabharata to be captured in Bronze. Namely, the one where he is called Rathangapani (the one who has a Chariot wheel as a weapon) referring to the event when Lord Krishna took a chariot wheel and postured to attack His devotee Bhishma, from the opposing side.
9/11 Memorial
In 2001 during the 9/11 attack I was teaching as Visiting Artist in Residence at Murray State University Murray Kentucky. After the tragic event, I as well as my students were finding it very difficult to be creative due to the severe shock we all experienced. The solution was to face it head on, so I taught a class entitled “Artist Response to Tradgedy” in which my students learned how to design, market, fund and present a high profile project. We designed and built an architectural scale model of a 9/11 memorial as well as a Bronze bust of Father Michael Judge that I created. The project was presnted to Engine 1 Ladder 24 Fire Station, New York City.

Mr. Breathitt spends a great deal of time in silent reflection with his work and lets it evolve organically rather than planning each aspect. He spent more than two thousand hours creating this particular piece. The result is a creation story that begins on the lower right-hand panel with life emerging from the ocean, evolving from single cell organisms. Progressing upwards you see a fertility goddess and a human embryo at the moment of conception. Above you see the tree of life and creation of the Solar System emerging from the Great Central Sun, The Primordial Om from which all things emerge. There are many more symbolic representation throughout the piece, which requires close attention to observe.

Rainey T. Wells led many efforts in establishing educational institutions in Kentucky. This monument was made in his honor and is placed at Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.

Ganesha
In viewing his Ganesha Murti, Mr. Breathitt has expressed a plethora of symbolic interpretations in both Hindu and multi cultural creation myths. The rich variety of textures as well as the vibrant color palette of antique cupric patinas and the bright luster of 24 Karat gold, present us with a unique combination rarely seen in contemporary sculptural form.

The Eyes of Truth
Faquir Chand is the Holy Man Hoshiarpur Punjab. This portrait was a turning point in my career. I researched my subject in depth, and this particular saint began my research into India where I eventually settled.
